Quick facts about us

5+ Years

We've been in operation since 2019 and have continually published new features, bug fixes and improvements.

Reliability

Our software and network is designed for stable operation and our 30-day uptime average is around 99.9%.

25K+ Users

Thousands of individuals and teams use Packetriot each day and businesses use our network in their production environments.

NoVPN

Unlike a traditional VPN, our client uses Layer 4-7 tunneling and runs as an unprivileged process that exposes specific apps and not the entire host.

Key components and features

Tunneling

We use secure TLS reverse tunnels to serve HTTP/S and TCP applications. Connect any application, backend API, or device to the Internet.

HTTPS

Automatic TLS is built into our client using Let's Encrypt. HTTPS is used by default for securing all traffic.

Auth

Add a password portal, with optional 2FA, or HTTP Basic-Auth to any website. Add filtering rules for IPv4 and v6 addresses.

Domains

Custom domains for tunnels work on all tiers. Subscribers can request and reserve custom subdomains that we managed.

How it works

Hosting applications on the Internet require a dedicated host or virtual machine with a public IP address.

Packetriot provides a cloud-based edge network that clients connect to using a secure reverse tunneling protocol that can connect applications or devices on local or private networks to the Internet.

HTTP/S and TCP traffic can be served from closed networks such as those behind Firewalls, NATs, and Carrier Grade NATs (CG-NAT).

All tunnels are assigned a unique and persistent hostname that serves a public endpoint for an application or device. You can also use custom domains as well.

Who did we build Packetriot for?

Self-hosters

Host applications like Plex, Bitwarden, Minecraft, Nextcloud, GitLab, Mattermost, Kanboard, and many more, on the Internet without managing a firewall or router.

You don't need to be a networking guru to self-host applications or access your home lab. Our client makes it simple to securely self-host services using residential ISPs or behind CG-NATs.

Developers

Build, host, and test your app. Integrate and test webhooks or build CI/CD integrations using a stable public URL endpoint.

Our client provides a static file server, reverse proxy, HTTP inspector and TLS certificate management, removing many other tools and simplifying your development environment.

Enterprises

We work with other tech and software companies to help them connect to IoT devices, point of sale systems, remote video cameras, environmental sensors, automation and control systems, and other devices.

Packetriot is an excellent substitute for VPNs that requires less configuration and less privilege to run.

Tailored solutions and services

Does your project require additional features, custom integrations, or managed services that's tailored to your requirements?

We routinely work with businesses to understand their needs and have built custom integrations, software modules, or services to help them leverage our tech to solve their challenges.

The Packetriot network is built with a software server we engineered from the the ground up called Spokes that offers more features than made available in our base services:

  • Expanded automation and APIs
  • Remote tunnel management
  • Remote client software updates
  • Bi-directional tunnel traffic and outbound proxies
  • Cross-tunnel private traffic
  • Webhook events
  • OpenID connect and much more.

Spokes is built to scale with your needs, supports high availability configurations, and provides simplicity compared to VPN or alternative technologies.

What our awesome users have said

Erik

I'm just going to give a small shoutout to the people @packetriot because for $5/mo I shouldn't be getting amazing uptime and low latency like I have been. The service is really, really swell and integrates pretty trivially into kubes if you use a volume for managing the secrets.

Neil

I definitely recommend it if you are looking to access your local machine on the net and want a good alternative to ngrok.

Peter

Again super pleased I got through this, kudos to John at Packetriot for supporting me on Skype, and anyone out there that needs help getting around a CGNat or oddball firewall/nat issue this saved my day.

Alex

This is an awesome service that I highly recommend. With Packetriot you can self-host your own applications for free and access them from the internet.

Facundo

At last, I solved my CGNAT issue using @packetriot and it manages my EFF Let's Encrypt certs as well. I truly recommend pktriot! :)

Ryan

@packetriot Huge props to Packet Riot. They responded to my email in less than 10 minutes and fixed my issue the first time. By far one of the most attractive platforms for users with know how. A+ rating.
